A demo of an electrical contractor's website, quotes customers accept and book online, and the engineer's app that turns a job into a certificate and an invoice.
Castlow Electrical is a fictional electrical contractor. We built it as a working demo of the three things a small electrical firm runs on: its website, the quotes it sends, and the app its electricians carry in the van.

The product
They share one set of jobs. When a customer accepts a quote and picks a date, the job appears on the engineer's day. When the engineer taps On my way, the customer's quote page shows it. When the job is tested and signed off, the certificate and the final invoice appear for the customer straight away.
It is built around the hour after the work is done — finding the certificate, chasing the sign-off, remembering to raise the invoice. In this demo each of those happens at the moment the engineer signs off.
How we approached it
We started from how UK electricians present themselves online and how trade software handles quotes and jobs. The website follows the conventions of established electricians' sites: a free-quote button and phone number on every page, services with what's included and how it works, an emergency line, projects and the areas covered. Prices are quoted, not published.
Customers don't log in. As in the trade software electricians use, the quote arrives as a link, and that link is where the customer chooses, accepts, pays the deposit, follows the job and pays the balance.
There is deliberately no office system. The engineer's app is what turns a booking into a certified, invoiced job, so that is what the demo shows — laid out like the field apps electricians use, not like a desktop back office.
The technical detail is real: RCBO and cable choices on the quote, BS 7671 test limits checked as results are entered, C1, C2, C3 and FI codes on the EICR, and the landlord and smart-charger regulations quoted on the service pages.
All of the data is fictional. The postcode area does not exist, the phone number is from Ofcom's range reserved for drama, every customer, engineer and address is invented, and no photograph shows a member of the team. Nothing is stored or sent.

Twenty-six pages, including one for every service and every project, landlord guidance, areas covered, an emergency page and the terms of business, with circuit-line animation throughout.
Quote requests with photos
Four short steps: the job, a description and photos, where and when, and contact details. Photos preview on the device.
Quotes customers accept online
The electrician's note and survey findings, charger options and optional extras with live totals, then a date and the deposit in one step.
Job tracking for the customer
Progress from booked to paid, the arrival text when the engineer sets off, and the certificate and invoice the moment the job is signed off.
The engineer's day
Jobs in route order on a map with driving time, and a button that reorders the day to cut driving. A new booking takes a whole day and moves the rest.
Job cards that produce the paperwork
Parts ticked off van stock, checklists, test results checked against BS 7671 limits, EICR observations with outcome, and the customer's signature.
Van stock
Parts used on each job come off the van, low stock is flagged, and an order can be placed for collection the next morning.
Castlow Electrical is an invented business used for demonstration, and every customer and engineer in it is invented. The demo stores nothing, sends nothing, and is not connected to any real job management system.
