About usFAQs
Straight answers to common questions.
The questions prospective clients ask us most often, answered plainly. If yours is not covered here, ask us directly — we would rather answer than have you guess.
01
Projects and pricing
Cost, timelines, platforms and ownership.
What does a project cost?
It depends entirely on scope, so we quote rather than list prices. A small marketing site is a different order of cost to a native app with accounts, payments and a backend. Tell us what you have in mind and you'll get a written quote with a fixed price before any work starts.
How long does it take?
A straightforward website is usually two to four weeks. A first version of a native app is typically eight to sixteen weeks, depending on how much it has to do. We'll give you a date with the quote and tell you early if anything threatens it.
Who owns the code and the accounts?
You do. The repository, the App Store listing, the domain and the hosting all sit in your own accounts from the start, not ours. If you ever want to take the work in-house or move to another studio, there's nothing to untangle.
Do you build for Android as well as iOS?
Yes — both, and we're equally happy on either. Most clients launch on both platforms together; where a budget only stretches to one for now, we'll look at where your users actually are and tell you honestly which to start with. That's a decision about your audience, not a preference of ours.
Can you take over a project someone else started?
Often, yes. We'll review the existing code first and tell you plainly whether it's worth continuing or whether rebuilding is cheaper in the long run — including when the honest answer is that you don't need us.
What happens after launch?
Every build includes a support window after release for anything that surfaces once real users arrive. Beyond that, most clients move onto a monthly arrangement for updates and new features — but it's optional, never a condition of the build.
Are you a UK-registered company?
Yes. Zero Horizon Ltd is registered in the United Kingdom and invoices in pounds sterling. We also work with clients outside the UK; most collaboration happens over calls and shared builds either way.
02
Working together
Quotes, payments, confidentiality and change.
What do you need from me to prepare a quote?
A short description of what you want to build, who it is for and any deadline you are working towards. Designs, documents or examples of products you admire are helpful but not essential — the first call is where we fill in the gaps together.
How do payments work?
Fixed-scope builds are invoiced in stages tied to delivery, typically with a deposit on signature and the balance spread across the remaining stages. Ongoing arrangements are invoiced monthly. All invoices are in pounds sterling.
Will you sign a non-disclosure agreement?
Yes. We are happy to sign a mutual NDA before you share the details of your project, and we treat everything you tell us as confidential either way.
How involved do I need to be?
As involved as you would like, with a minimum of a short review at the end of each stage. Most clients spend an hour or two a week reviewing builds and answering questions; we keep decisions moving without needing you in daily meetings.
What if my requirements change during the project?
They often do, and that is fine. We assess the impact of any change on cost and schedule and agree it with you in writing before we proceed, so the price you agreed is never revised after the fact.
Still have a question?
