About us
Two brothers, one studio.
Zero Horizon is a development studio in the United Kingdom. We design and build mobile apps and web platforms — scoped, priced and shipped by the same two people who write the code.
Most studios this size are a front for a rotating cast of contractors. We are not. There are two of us, we are brothers, and between us we have spent more than five years building software — the last of it on our own products, in public, where the bugs are ours to answer for.
That shapes how we quote. We have shipped to the App Store, waited on review, watched a release go wrong at nine in the evening and fixed it ourselves. So when we tell you what something will cost and how long it will take, it is an estimate made by the people who will actually do the work, not by someone whose job ends when you sign.
We would rather turn work down than take something we cannot do well. If your idea is better served by an off-the-shelf tool, or by no software at all, we will say so on the first call — it costs us a project and saves you considerably more.
What we believe
Four things we do not bend on
Small on purpose
We take fewer projects at once so the ones we have get proper attention. There is no bench to keep busy and no incentive to stretch a build past what it needs.
We build our own products first
Everything in our portfolio is ours — designed, shipped and still maintained by us. We have been through App Store review, live outages and real user feedback on our own time before doing it on yours.
No account managers
The person who reads your brief is the person who writes the code. Nothing is relayed through someone who has to check and come back to you.
Built so you could leave
Repository, store listing, domain and hosting all sit in your accounts from day one. If you take the work in-house or move to another studio, there is nothing to untangle and nothing to buy back.
How we work
From idea to impact
Four stages, a fixed scope and a price agreed up front — so you can see progress, stay in control, and know what you are paying for.
- 01
Discovery
We work out what you're building and who it's for.
A call, a written scope and a clear quote, agreed before any code is written.
- 02
Design
We map the screens and how people move through them.
Wireframes first, then designs you can click through on your own phone.
- 03
Develop
We build it in the open, in short reviewable stages.
You get working builds to test as we go, so nothing lands as a surprise.
- 04
Launch
We ship it, then stay on to keep it healthy.
Store submission, hosting, analytics and a support window after release.
Ways to work with us
Three ways in
Not sure which you need? Say so when you get in touch — picking the right one is part of what the first call is for.
You have an idea but not a spec
Discovery sprint
A short, paid piece of work that turns a rough idea into something you can budget for, build from, or take to someone else.
- Working session to pin down scope and users
- Screen-by-screen outline of the product
- Technical approach and the risks worth knowing
- A fixed quote for the build, with no obligation to take it
You know what you need built
Fixed-scope build
The usual way we work. An agreed scope, an agreed price and a date, delivered in stages you can see and test as they land.
- Design, build, testing and release
- Working builds to try at the end of each stage
- App Store or Play Store submission handled for you
- Everything in your own accounts, handed over at the end
You have something live that needs to keep moving
Ongoing partner
A monthly arrangement for teams who need continuous work: new features, OS updates, monitoring and someone to call when something breaks.
- An agreed block of development time each month
- Monitoring, OS and dependency updates
- Priority response when something goes wrong
- No long tie-in — one month's notice, whenever

Want to talk it through?
Thirty minutes on a call is usually enough to tell whether we are the right studio for what you are building.
