The product
A free iOS app and website (mosqueradar.com) for finding UK mosques, their prayer and jama'ah times and the direction of the qibla. The directory covers more than 1,900 UK mosques.
The challenge
A prayer-times app is only as good as its data, and not every mosque publishes a timetable.
Someone needs to know whether a time is confirmed or calculated before they set off, not when they arrive.
Our role
- Product design and branding
- Native iOS app with live map and search
- Web platform at mosqueradar.com
- Dataset of 1,900+ UK mosques
- Home and lock screen widgets
- App Store release and ongoing updates
Product decisions
- 01
Estimated times are labelled
Confirmed timetables come from the mosque. Anything calculated is marked “Estimated”, so nobody mistakes one for the other.
- 02
Community-maintained, reviewed before publishing
A missing mosque or an out-of-date time can be submitted from the app or the website, and is published once the maintainers have reviewed it.
- 03
Location handled on the device
Location is used on the device to find nearby mosques and the qibla bearing.
- 04
The next prayer without opening the app
A pinned mosque shows on a Home or Lock Screen widget, with a countdown to the next prayer.
Outcome
Mosque Radar launched on the App Store on 11 June 2026 alongside mosqueradar.com, with a directory of more than 1,900 UK mosques.
It is still maintained: version 1.0.1 is current, and added prayer notifications, a Lock Screen widget and more confirmed timetables.
